This is the most "play" play I've ever seen. If you've seen a single play in your life you know what I'm talking about. At least this feels like a cohesive story instead of Manchester by the Sea's approach. But maybe I just didn't understand that one. On the other hand, why is this even a movie? Why is this nominated for Best Picture when it's not much like a film at all? I hate everything.

This feels like someone made a film based on a biography and just needed to hit all the big notes. Oh wait, that's what this is. I hate when people say "what was the point of this movie?" but that's kind of what I'm thinking here. I remember there being one point in the movie where I was thinking "hey, I like this" but I forgot what it was before it was even over. I feel nothing.

I'm disappointed because this isn't typical Hollywood schmaltz, but it still ends up being bad. It's watchable I guess.

I don't know what I expect from The Oscars because Moonlight is the only one so far that feels like a Best Picture nominee to me. Arrival, I think is better than Sicario but I still wanted more from Villeneuve, and I'm not sure why. I don't really know where these expectations came from. This was a pretty good movie with great music.

CD Smiles added 1 item to Cereals I've Had In Me list
I bought this to get free shipping on a pair of pants...
Out of the box the taste was offputting but not unpleasant. Hard to explain. When I first applied the milk the cereal seemed like it didn't want to be eaten. Very tough. But as a result of that I can say it's the only cereal I can think of that didn't get soggy while I was eating it. There's not much flavor to it but something about this equation adds up to a positive. I fuck with this.

This... "movie"... it's the poster. It's right there. It's exactly what you think it is except less subtle. Usually a movie this boring couldn't really elicit any sort of emotion from me, but it is so unbelievably banal that I hate it. I hate this movie. It's fucking drivel. It's an insult that this is nominated for best picture. Do people even know what movies are anymore?
Edit: FUCK YOU

Whoa it's Oscar time. I'm not sure why I still do this to myself, I've realized, especially after watching Moonlight that no matter how good one of these movies is, it's never going to impress me because I just don't like the format. I don't like the way American cinema is in 2016. Honestly the only Best Picture nominated film I'm looking forward to is La La Land because it's meant to emulate an old film, and musicals are atypical of the style these days anyway. If I were to say anything about Moonlight it's that it's probably just as good as it could be, all things considered.
