October 21st Directed by: Samuel Bayer Honestly, this one's a banger. There's so many fantastic ideas in here, not one of which being making Freddy Kruger a super pedophile but I mean, it's something. The pacing is super fast but never annoying, it's actually tense at times and Jackie Earle Haley's performance is incredible. I'm really impressed, I think this is better than the original.

October 21st Directed by: Marcus Nispel So this is what I meant by "the trappings of horror remakes of this era". But yet again I'm pleasantly surprised. On one hand it does feel soulless and way too slick, but on the other hand they do Jason justice. I appreciate the energy of this movie.

October 21st Directed by: Rob Zombie Rob Zombie isn't a bad director. Halloween doesn't seem to fall into the trappings of other horror remakes of this era, but it does fall into the Rob Zombie trappings. It's hard to judge this movie because I feel like it's fundamentally wrong to tell the story the way it did, but it could have been executed so much worse. On a re-watch, I might even like this movie.
