February 22nd Directed by: Robert Rodriguez This is the most ANIME anime film ever. You can tell it was made by passionate fans who really WANTED to make this, this was no boardroom decision. They basically took the through line of the OVA, paced it out better, moved some plot events around, which resulted mostly positively. It's a lot to fit in two hours, nevermind 55 minutes. There's some bad dialogue, questionable casting, but they got the character of Alita perfect. She, and the actress' performance drive the entire film, she's painfully charming. This movie is really great whether you've seen the original or not and that might be an entirely new concept to live action anime adaptations. They hit this nail on the head. Theater.

February 21st Directed by: Rodney Rothman, Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti Fun, inspiring, imaginative, infinitely watchable, Spider-Verse runs at a brisk pace but it has more than enough time for human moments. Miles is the best protagonist I could ever hope for, I love everything they incorporated into his, and by proxy, Spider-Man's story. Spider-Man is the new tour de force of cinema. Downloaded.

February 19th Directed by: Roberto Rossellini Paisan consists of six episodes with no real underlying theme other than language barriers between Italians and Americans during WWII, and that doesn't pertain to the entire duration. What does however, is the incredible pacing and cinematography Rossellini's films always have, although Paisan feels unique compared to his other works. These are not your typical war stories, these are things that could only be brought to you from people who were there, from a film master who could turn truths into unforgettable images. This film is authentic. Blu-Ray.
